⚙️ Key Components & Recommendations
- SOTF Switch (Shift-On-The-Fly):
- The SOTF Switch is needed to correctly run SOTF tunes.
- Without the switch, your tune will default to the lowest power level. Installing the switch allows you to adjust power levels instantly and maximize your vehicle’s performance.
- TCM Tuning (Transmission Control Module):
- TCM Tuning increases the line pressure in your transmission so it can handle the added engine power from the tunes.
- We highly recommend TCM tuning for anyone with a 68RFE transmission that plans on running anything more than a tow tune.
- IMPORTANT: Please specify if you have any transmission modifications when ordering TCM Tuning!
✅ What’s Included & System Features
- Smartphone Required: You MUST HAVE A SMARTPHONE (iOS or Android) to download and install tunes.
- Rotary Switch: Includes a rotary switch to change power levels on the fly.
- Unlock Cable: Includes the required unlock cable for 2018+ Cummins or Nissan pickup trucks.
- DPF Delete Pipe: INCLUDES DPF DELETE PIPE with an optional upgrade to a full exhaust system.
- EGR Delete Kit: INCLUDES EGR DELETE KIT.
- Emissions System Management:
- DPF / CAT / DOC / SCR: The EZ LYNK is a delete-capable tuner. These components must be removed.
- EGR: The tune will deactivate the EGR system. The EGR can be left installed (but unplugged) or completely removed with the included delete kit (recommended).
- DEF: Diesel Exhaust Fluid is no longer required. The tank can be unplugged or removed.
- Check Engine Light / DTCs: Prevents emission-related trouble codes. The system will still alert you to other non-emission vehicle issues.
- Fuel Mileage: Expect significant fuel mileage gains after removing emission restrictions (e.g., from 13-14 MPG to a combined 18-19 MPG). Results may vary with driving habits and modifications.
️ General Installation Guide
Living up to the brand name, the EZ LYNK installation process is simple.
- Download the App: Download the “AutoAgent” app from the App Store (iOS 8+) or Google Play Store (Android 5+).
- Create an Account: Open the app and create your account. You will need to verify your email address.
- Key in ‘Run’ Position: Turn your key to the ‘Run’ position without starting the engine. For push-to-start vehicles, press the button twice.
- Plug in the AutoAgent: Plug the AutoAgent device into your vehicle’s OBD-II port. A blue and green light indicates it has booted correctly.
- Connect via WiFi: Open your smart device’s WiFi settings and connect to the “EZLYNK_####” network. (The AutoAgent 2 also supports Bluetooth).
- Open the App: Navigate back to the AutoAgent app. You should now see your vehicle’s gauges.
- Lynk Your Vehicle: A message will appear asking you to “lynk” your vehicle to your technician’s account. Follow these prompts to connect.
- Program Your Vehicle:
- Navigate to Vehicle > ECU Profiles.
- Here you can view the list of available tunes.
- Tap to download your desired profile, then tap ‘Install’ to flash your vehicle.
⚠️ SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS (Jeep & Ram 3.0L EcoDiesel / 2.8L Duramax)
YOU MUST FLASH THE TRUCK BEFORE INSTALLING ANY OTHER HARD PARTS! FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS MAY CAUSE ISSUES.
Preparation
- Hook up a Battery Charger: Connect a battery charger set to a low charge (e.g., 10A). New ECUs are very sensitive to voltage drops during flashing. This step is critical.
- Connect Bypass Cable: If you are flashing a 2018+ Cummins, a 3.0L Jeep, or a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, you must connect the Bypass Cable during the flash process.
Flashing Steps
- Get the EZ LYNK Auto Agent.
- Tune Before Removing Parts: Tune the truck before you remove any hardware. This ensures you are not stranded if you run into an issue.
- Connect the Battery Charger. (Crucial Step)
- Download the App & Create an Account.
- Plug in the EZ LYNK & Bypass Cable (if required).
- Connect to the Auto Agent via WiFi and follow the prompts to link your vehicle. Let your technician know when you are linked so they can send the tune files.
- Flash The Correct Tune Files (KEY STEP):
- Navigate to ECU Profiles.
- FIRST, you must flash the RESET or “FLASH FIRST” file. The exact name will be similar to:
- Jeep:
68270625AG_1_MUST_FLASH_FIRST
- Ram 1500:
#0 - MUST FLASH FIRST THE VERY FIRST TIME
- Colorado/Canyon:
[YEAR]_2.8_RESETFILE
- Flashing this file should take about 7 minutes. If it flashes instantly, it has not worked.
- After the flash completes, fully disconnect the EZ LYNK and disconnect the vehicle’s batteries for 10 minutes.
- Reconnect everything, and now you can flash the desired power level tune (e.g.,
..._50HP_ECONOMY_...).
